Hot & Smoky Baked Beans

6 bacon slices

1 ½ cups onion, chopped

1 ¼ cups barbecue sauce

22 oz bottle Alaskan Brewing Co. Smoked Porter

¼ cup mild molasses

3 Tbs Dijon mustard

3 Tbs (packed) dark brown sugar

2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbs soy sauce

3 to 4 Tbs canned chipotle chilies, drained and minced

6-16 oz cans Great Northern beans, drained

Baked  Beans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Transfer to paper towels and drain. Transfer 2 ½ tablespoons bacon drippings from skillet to large bowl. Finely chop bacon; add to bowl. Add onion and next 7 ingredients to bowl and whisk to blend. Whisk in chipotle chilies, based on level of spiciness preferred. Add beans and stir to coat. Transfer mixture to 13x9 inch baking dish. Bake uncovered until liquid bubbles and thickens slightly, about 1 hour. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
